Desi Chickpeas are a light to dark brown colour. They are in the 6 to 7mm range, with a thick seed coat.
The seeds are excellent sources of protein. This desi’ variety comprises of darker smaller seeds having a rough outer covering whereas the ‘kabuli’ variety are comparatively larger light colored beans with a smoother coat.
